Areas Rusk County Animal Shelter Serves

We service Rusk County, but will adopt to any responsible pet owner.

Rusk County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

Our application can be found on our website under "Adoption Policies." We also have paper copies available at the shelter.

2. Approve Application

Once your application is approved we will set up a time for you to come in and meet the Pet you are interested in.

3. Take the Pet Home

If the meet & greet goes well, we can finalize the adoption paperwork and adoption fee and your pet can go home with you the same day!

Our goal is to place each animal in our care into a perfect forever home! We work hard to match our animals with a home that will fit their personality.

Our adoption fees are $100/dog and $60/cat. This fee includes a $25 spay/neuter deposit. The adopter has 30 days in which to neuter or spay the pet after which your deposit will be refunded. If you rent, we ask that you have landlord permission to bring home a pet.
