Shelter FAQs
We are a non-profit, no kill spca. We will adopt out as many animals as we can, but if they never get homes, that's fine, either us workers will take them home, or they will be life time residents. They love it at the shelter. We do not house our dogs in kennels, they have big yards to run in all day, and only sleep in kennels at night. We are one unique shelter.
Mainly Schuylkill County, but we will adopt to any one who we find to be wonderful pet owners, who can get themselves to the shelter.
Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationAdopters are welcome to submit their application before or after visiting our shelter. We encourage doing so before for a smooth adoption.
- Approve ApplicationA representative will reach out (usually via email) when processing your application.
- Sign Adoption Contract

SMALL CRITTERS
$20
CATS
$100 cats & kittens
$80 senior cats ages 10+
Fees include Feline Leukemia and AIDS (if 6 months or older), veterinarian-style testing, plus deworming, rabies and FVRCP shots. FVRCP boosters may need to be completed by the adopter in some cases after adoption.
DOGS
$325 dogs & puppies
$100 senior dogs ages 8+
Fees include spay/neuter (if applicable), microchip, deworming, flea/tick preventative, Distemper, Bordetella & Rabies vaccines. Distemper boosters may need to be completed by the adopter in some cases after adoption.
A licensing fee is not included in the adoption fee. All dogs must be licensed upon adoption.
