Shelter FAQs

Our mission is to improve the lives of cats and dogs in Fluvanna County and our community by promoting adoption and responsible pet ownership. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the animals in our care until they find permanent, loving homes.
Although the Fluvanna SPCA only accepts cats and dogs from Fluvanna County, we will adopt to any good home within the state and beyond.

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
Feel Free to come by the shelter Wednesday-Sunday from 12-5 to chat with staff and meet possible matches
  2. Meet the Pet
We will have a matchmaking conversation with you so we can introduce you to a pet that would fit your home.
  3. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We're excited to meet you! Our foster and adoption applications can be found online at www.fspca.org. All fees include age-appropriate shots, microchips, and spay/neuter.
