We have an adoption application for starters, we also
do home visits and call your referances. We do NOT
take the placement of our rescued animals lightly, we
want a “forever” family for them and do all we can to
assure they are placed in a home right for the family
and right for the pet.

About Phelps County Animal Welfare League
We are a rescue group and network of foster homes. We formed our group to help the local Rolla Animal
shelter increase their adoption rates. We photo and
post animals for them as well as rescue
animals from them in danger of euthanasia and place
them in our foster homes for adoption when they are
ready. It is our goal to change the future of Rolla
where unwanted animals are concerned. We are raising funds for vet care for the shelter animals as well as for a new animal shelter. We hope to one day have our own shelter or take over the existing one and be part of the no-kill nation.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
