We take stray, lost or abused animals from Ingham County. Shelter animals can be adopted out into any county upon approval of adoption application.

Ingham County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

Normal Purchase Fees:

Dogs 6 years and older $48.00*
Dogs under 6 years $103.00*
Puppies under 5 months $139.00*
Cats under 6 years $84.00*
Cats 6 years and older $45.00*

When adopting a cat or kitten you may select a second cat or kitten for only $10.00 more. The lower priced pet is the one you get for $10.00. If either cat is returned the $10.00 is refunded first.

These fees include:

Age appropriate vaccinations
Dog license for dogs and puppies
A Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Test for cats
A heart worm test for dogs
A microchip
Spay/Neuter
