Areas Shelter to Home Serves

Shelter to Home, Inc. is an animal rescue organization that works to save impounded animals in the Metro-Detroit area by placing them into a home foster care setting until permanent and loving homes can be found.

Shelter to Home's Adoption Process

CATS: We ensure that each cat rescued by Shelter to Home, Inc. has received up to date and proper vet care. Adoption donation’s include, age—appropriate veterinary care, such as: feline leukemia test, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, worming, flea prevention, and spay/neuter (other vet care as needed). Adult cats and kittens range are usually $100 unless they are sponsored or we are running a promotion.

DOGS: We ensure that each dog rescued by Shelter to Home, Inc. has received up to date and proper vet care. Adoption donation's include age—appropriate veterinary care, such as: heartworm/parvo testing, rabies vaccine, DHLPPC vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, worming, flea prevention, spay/neuter (other vet care as needed). Adult dogs and puppies range from $150- $250 depending on the vet care provided.

Goals:
· To find loving and permanent homes for adoptable animals from shelter/pound facilities

· To further reduce the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals in shelter/pound facilities

· To further reduce the overpopulation of animals in the Downriver area by assisting in the rescue and placement of impounded animals

· To inform and educate citizens about responsible, humane treatment of companion pets and the importance of spay/neuter procedures, programs and policies
