Additional adoption info
To adopt from us, you'll need to fill out an application on our website at http://www.austindog.org. We require a vet reference. Renters must have written permission from their landlords in order to adopt from us.
If your application is approved, we'll come to your home for a visit. This is just to be sure that you live in an environment that is safe for a dog.
After your application has been approved and your home visit has been completed, you're ready to adopt. We require a $190 adoption fee (for dogs 4 months and older), a $220 adoption fee for puppies (dogs less than 4 months old) and a signed contract at the time we release the dog to your care. You can change your mind within three days for a refund of your adoption fee. Should you change your mind after the three day period, we will not provide a refund.
If you ever decide to give up guardianship of a dog adopted from us, for any reason, you must return the dog to our care.
