Shelter FAQs

We are the Shelbyville Humane Society, Inc. and we rescue animals from both the pound and the public as needed. We provide education to the public on caring for their pets and why we need to spay and neuter them. Our goal is to reduce the number of pets who wind up in the pound and eventually are euthanized.
We serve the city of Shelbyville, and the surrounding townships in Shelby County.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption contract, with a fee of $40.00 for Dogs, and $20.00 for Cats. We like for our Adopters to spend some time with the Dog or Cat to get acquainted, and look over some information as to what to expect when adopting a pet.
