Rescue FAQs

Gunner's Run Rescue was established in honor of a very special dog that passed away. All dogs rescued and helped are done for you, Gunner. You will never be forgotten. I love you Lu (Gram), you have inspired me to try to make a difference in this world- even if it is a small one.
We are a small group of individuals dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment for dogs, giving them love, one-on-one attention, and basic obedience training, full veterinary care , with the ultimate goal of adoption to their forever family.
We do not have a shelter all of our dogs are kept in our home and given the one on one attention that they need. We are an all-breed rescue- focusing our attention on dogs that are in immediate need of placement from animal control or shelters that have to euthanize due to lack of space.
"We must be the change we want to see in the world" Mahatma Gandhi
We are located approx. 60 miles south of St. Louis Missouri on the Illinois side of the river and are approx. 25 miles south of Belleville Illinois. Out of state adoptions will be responsible for transport.

Additional adoption info

Adoption contract is required and can be obtained by email or by phone request. Home visits are required. Adoption fees vary per dog. Please note these fees are inclusive of spay/neuter and vaccinations. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, fully vetted and are kept on heartworm/flea and tick preventative. Adoption fees help to cover vet expenses and to benefit and help current and future dogs. 100% of all donations, adoption fees, and proceeds from any fundraising event go back directly to help the dogs. We are (501c3) nonprofit, and State Licensed.
