Rescue FAQs

Tavi & Friends is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping companion animals with unique challenges through public awareness, partnership and teamwork, TTouch therapy, training, TNR rescue and adoption. We are also a breed rescue for the American Curl cat. We rescue cats and dogs from many situations, bring them into a foster care environment to help with needed rehabilitation, medical care, and socialization. We are members of the NYC Breed Network, the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, Tellington TTouch Int’l, and network with other animal welfare organizations.

Additional adoption info

Tavi & Friends uses an application process: completion and submission of our adoption application; reference and vet checks required; on-site home visit required prior to approval, spot visits; adoption contract. Adoption fees vary depending on animal, and will be discussed with potential adopters.

The adoption process may take a little time as we work hard to ensure that all of our animals go to the best forever home.

All animals will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated as appropriate, cats tested for FIV/FeLV, and we provide full disclosure of the animal’s condition prior to completion of the adoption process. We do, however, recommend that you see your own veterinarian after adoption, and at least yearly, to ensure the ongoing health and well-being of your new pet for many years to come!

Adoption applications can be downloaded from our website: www.TAVIandFRIENDS.org
