ANGELS OF FUR K-9 RESCUE, INC SERVES ALL OF CENTRAL NY. INCLUDING, SYRACUSE, ROME, ONEIDA, VERNON, WHITESBORO, UTICA, HERKIMER AND MORE. WE DO NOT HAVE A LOCAL SHELTER TO COME AND SEE. WE ARE A PRIVATE RESCUE, ALL OF OUR ANGELS RESIDE IN A FOSTER HOME, WHERE THEY ARE LOVED, VETTED, SOCIALIZED, PROVIDED BASIC TRAINING AND LOTS OF CUDDLES. WE RUN OFF OF ADOPTIONS AND DONATIONS ALONE. WE RECEIVE NO FUNDING AT ALL FROM GRANTS AND SUCH.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS IS REALLY SIMPLE. WE REQUIRE AN APPLICATION TO FILL OUT WHILE INQUIRING ON ONE OF OUR ANGELS, AT THE END OF THE APPLICATION THERE IS A CONTRACT WHICH LISTS OUR TERMS OF ADOPTING FROM OUR RESCUE. WE ARE AWAITING OUR 501C3 STATUS. PERSPECTIVE ADOPTERS MUST BE OVER 19 YEARS OF AGE, OWN THEIR OWN HOME, HAVE REFERENCES AND A VETERINARY REFERENCE AS WELL. ALL APPLICATIONS REQUIRE US TO CHECK ALL INFORMATION, IF ANY INFORMATION IS FALSE OR UNCLEAR IT WILL DELAY THE PROCESS OR BE DENIED ALL TOGETHER. HOME VISITS ARE REQUIRED BEFORE AND AFTER ALL APPLICATIONS/ADOPTIONS. WE TAKE TIME TO EVALUATE EACH PROSPECTIVE ADOPTER, BE PATIENT WITH US AS WE ALL HAVE LIFES AND VOLUNTEER SO IT MAY TAKE UP TO A WEEK TO HAVE AN APPLICATION REVIEWED AND ACCEPTED. Angels of Fur K-9 Rescue is a group of volunteer dog lovers. We dedicate our time and knowledge to save our loving dogs. Our mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs.
All of our dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes.
As we are all volunteers we have busy lives too, but as time permits us we will provide house-training and basic obedience while in our care.
We evaluate every dog for their temperment, ability, and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
