Shelter FAQs

The Redlands Police Department’s Animal Control Unit provides animal control services to Redlands residents. Officers patrol the streets and respond to calls for service to assist with animal related problems. The mission of this unit is to provide the City with quality service while meeting the needs of the public and maintaining a healthful and happy environment for the many stray and homeless animals we acquire.
We serve the City of Redlands but residents of other areas may adopt from our shelter.

Additional adoption info

Viewings and interactions with animals is available during regular shelter hours. No Appointment needed!

Shelter Hours:
Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Closed Sunday and Monday.

If you are looking to adopt, shelter staff or a volunteer will assist you in handling the animal you are interested in.

Dogs may be taken by leash out to the front where our adoption viewing pens are located. There you will be able to socialize with the dog before making your decision to adopt. You may also bring your own dog to meet your potential new pet!

Cats may be handled inside the cattery, with doors closed of course, to enjoy the cat snuggled up in your arms.

Donations can be made directly to the Redlands Animal Shelter. Also, please don't forget to visit our volunteer group website www.redfosa.org, www.facebook.com/redfosa, www.twitter.com/redfosa
