Additional adoption info

Rescue dogs are very important to us, therefore, we screen potential pet parents carefully. We don't want anyone to make a hasty decision but a thoughtful and well planned one. Adopting on 'impulse' is usually not the best idea. There is an application for adoption where a personal and vet reference will be requested. We may also conduct a home visit. Usually the adoption process requires two visits to our rescue. The first is a meet and greet. Then a second one is scheduled after all parties have had time to discuss the addition of the new pet. This is when the agreement is signed and you take your new baby home with you!

About ALL Creatures Matter Rescue, Inc.

ALL Creatures Matter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue that specializes in puppy mill dogs and rescues from high kill shelters in addition to owner surrenders. We maintain high standards of care for all our rescues. They will receive the best medical care, spaying/neutering, all shots, dewormings, any needed medications, treatment for diseases they may have acquired from mills and pounds, and they are housed in private homes where they will get individualized attention and love. We feel this is the best way to handle these dogs since they usually require extra attention because of their backgrounds. They are treated as valued members of their foster families where they are loved, played with, socialized and given some basic training.

ACM exists to save lives by pulling from high kill shelters and rescuing from puppy mills. We also educate on proper care of animals in an effort to decrease the high population of unwanted animals. All dogs will be spayed or neutered BEFORE leaving this rescue.

ACM is comprised of volunteers as a non-profit rescue. We rely solely upon donations and adoption fees to help these dogs. Contributions for vet care is always needed and appreciated!

We are always in need of volunteers to clean cages, walk dogs, make pick-ups, etc. We also need donations of items such as white towels, cleaning supplies, cages/crates, toys, blankets, treats, dry dog food and paper towels.

We take financial donations through the Chipin we have established:

ALL Creatures Matter Rescue, Inc.'s adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Westfield, IN.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
