Rescue FAQs
Pause for Paws Inc. is a no-kill, all volunteer, foster-based 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelter in San Antonio, TX. We are a stray/street dog rescue, primarily taking in dogs directly from the streets in the San Antonio area and from people in the community who have picked up strays. We rescue, treat, rehabilitate, vaccinate, spay/neuter, and microchip all of our animals. We provide foster care in a loving environment while we match the animals with their forever homes.

Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationWe are application based!
- Approve ApplicationWe do a vet check if you have other furbabies!
- Home CheckOnce approved we do a fence check to ensure the furbabies cant get out.
- Sign Adoption ContractWr then finalize the adoption paper
- Pay FeePay our $300 fee: with everything included
- Take the Pet HomeThank you for adopting!

Adoption Policy
We do not do same day adoptions; we are application based. Once an application is submitted, we will review the application and arrange a time with you for a fence check. Our adoption fee is $300, includes microchip, spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (when available with certificate/tag), all shots, and heartworm test.
Shot records, PetSmart coupons, and first month heartworm prevention included with all adoptions.
