Shelter FAQs

The SPCA of Luzerne County accepts stray animals from municipalities that have chosen to utilize our organization as their stray animal service provider for the protection and housing of the stray, abandoned and abused animals that so desperately need our love, care and support. In fact, we proudly provide service for 33 municipalities in our county. We also accept surrendered owned animals from anyone living in Luzerne County. The SPCA of Luzerne County works with many rescues and partner animal welfare organizations to ensure the animals we choose to share our lives with are properly cared for. It takes a whole community working together to move our County towards a more humane and caring society.
