Rescue FAQs

We are run solely by volunteers. No-one gets paid anything. We do it because we care. I am a retired police officer and work about 12 hours a day caring for the animals and running the organization together with another retired volunteer, Joan, who puts in many hours a day. Our foster homes number about 40; we have more than 60 people who volunteer.
Greater Victoria Area and Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island; we have taken animals from Edmonton and California also.

Additional adoption info

An application is required to be completed. An interview is completed either in person or on the phone. The potential adopter is then put in touch with the foster home who interviews them and gives their input as to suitability.

Kittens are $200 for a female; males $160. This includes flea treatment, worming, the first vet visit with the first vaccine and voucher to contact us to have their kitten fixed at approximately six months of age. We follow up on this.

The prices for adults vary depending upon the age and adoptability of the cat. Range between $50 and $125. Again, they are all flea treated, wormed, fixed and vaccinated prior to adoption.

We have Canada Helps. We are set up for PayPal but it is not on the site yet.
