Shelter FAQs

We are an animal control agency that often gets in stray dogs and cats that need to be placed in new homes. Our policy is 'community safety first' and all our animals are asssesed for aggression to the best of our ability. We want your adoption experience to be positive for both you and the animal and do our best to match you with the right pet before you take it home.
We serve the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. This includes the towns of Duncan, Ladysmith, Lake Cowichan and North and South Cowichan.

Additional adoption info

Please call the Shelter for costs, they do vary depending on the individual dog. All our animals are adopted either fixed or with a certificate for spay/neuter and one vaccination.
