A 809 Rockford Road SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 shelter helping to find loving homes for dogs.
1 - 2 of 2 Adoptable Pets at This Shelter
Ideally, potential Adopters and Fosters should live within a two hour radius of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is because home visits are part of our standard foster/adoption approval process. We are all volunteers so driving distances need to be reasonable.
Note: Because of COVID-19, virtual home visits are permitted.
We recommend that potential adopters come to our Safe Place shelter on any Saturday, between 10am and 2pm, to meet our resident dogs.
Potential adopters/fosters over 21 may submit an application online, via snailmail, or in person.
If your application (with references) is approved, you will be notified. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us.
If you already have other animals, an additional off-site meet & greet may be required to ensure compatibility.
The adoption fee (based upon the dog's age) must be paid when the adoption contract is signed.
You will be asked to provide our Adoption Committee with updates regarding how your new family member is adapting.
Dogs Forever Safe Place provides refuge for homeless dogs, where they receive loving care, free of fear and free of the threat of being euthanized. This is their sanctuary until Dogs Forever places them with a reputable rescue, a no-kill shelter or a forever family.
Many of the dogs residing at Safe Place come from kill shelters where they were at risk of being euthanized or from other Iowa counties that have no animal shelter.
Dogs Forever Safe Place is located at 809 Rockford Road SW in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are just down the road from the Ice Arena. Our front door faces the right field of Kernels stadium.
We are typically open to the public from 10am-2pm every Saturday.
Due to COVID-19, we are following facemask and social distancing guidelines mandated by our State Governor.
