1 - 2 of 2 Adoptable Pets at This Shelter
The St. Martin Humane Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation located in the heart of Cajun-Creole country, serving Acadiana and its surrounding areas.
Our adoption application can be found on our website at www.stmartinhumane.com.
If your adoption application is approved, you’ll be contacted by the foster parent to set up a meet and greet!
The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501(c)(3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fundraising to fulfill its mission.
Our mission is to prevent and relieve the suffering of animals, aid in the enforcement of all laws relating to the subject of cruelty to animals and the lawful protection thereof, carry on a program of teaching and education on the subject of cruelty to animals and responsible pet care, reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the SMHS through spay/neuter and vaccination programs, seek the return of lost animals to their rightful owners, seek suitable homes for animals without owners, and obtain and maintain shelters for homeless or abused animals.
We participate in many adoption events throughout the year. Many of our animals can be met at our adoption events held on most Saturdays and/or Sundays at PetSmart located on Johnston Street. Please check our website or contact us to see what upcoming events we will be participating in.
