About L.F.R.A.

L.F.R.A. is a newly formed, small scale animal rescue/rehab. Our mission is to help crisis stray or unwanted animals who need time, therapy and care to recover to find their forever homes. All L.F.R.A. animals live in home (or on property if farm animal), and as part of the family during their recovery and rehabilitation. While many of L.F.R.A. cases involve bottle baby puppies and kittens, semi-feral to feral cats, injuries, deformities, handicaps to also do apply. Our goal is to provide quality care and lots of love to get the animals in our care well and able to enjoy full lives with their new forever families.

Being a owner of several special need pets, and working in our local shelter system. I have seen first hand that Special Need animals have long been overlooked in the shelter/rescue systems. They often require more effort and time to fully recuperate and many shelters/rescues merely do not have the time necessary to give to them. To often they are merely put down or discarded by previous owners who do not wish the burden. It was out of having a lifetime personal passion for working with such animals, patience, and willingness to offer them as much time as needed that L.F.R.A. was born.

L.F.R.A. is fully donation funded be it financial or supplies, and welcome sponsors who would consider funding for care and rehab of one or more fur babies in our care.

L.F.R.A. is pro -No Kill- though at times if we know there is no hope, and any further treatment options would merely promote and prolong suffering we will consider euthanasia. Our goal is -always- what is best for the animal in the end.

At this time L.F.R.A. does not have volunteers to work with the pets directly, but this is a future goal of ours. L.F.R.A. does however welcome any volunteers who might wish to help promote our pets ready for adoption, aid with donation drives, and educate public about the wonders of rehab/special need animals as loving family pets to various sources via the internet, social medias, or other means.

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Porter, TX.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
