Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting any of our animals, please send an e-mail to fourpaws2rescue@yahoo.com with the subject “Adoption Application Request.” We will send you an application. Once you return the application for review, we will get started with the screening process at which time someone will be calling you or e-mailing you. All applications will be reviewed in a timely manner. Please be sure you meet the following requirements before you submit an application:

• All animals in the house are spayed and neutered.

• All animals in the house are up to date on vaccinations and vet care.

• Your potential adoptee will be INDOORS only. (unless otherwise specified in the bio)

Adoption Fees--Our adoption fees are $50.00 for adult cats, $85.00 for kittens, unless otherwise stated; dogs start at $150.00 depending on age and what their medical care needs are. If an animal is senior or special needs, the adoption fee may vary slightly. We also give a discount for adopting a bonded pair.

Cat Vet Care--All cats and kittens are FIV/FeLV tested. We also de-worm (using Pyrantel), flea treat (using Revolution) and treat ear mites (using Mitaclear). All cats and kittens receive at least their first set of vaccinations, we try to do the complete set of vaccinations depending on how long they are in foster. We use Fel-O-Guard Plus 4 By Boehringer Ingelheim--Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia-Chlamydia Psittici vaccine. All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Dog Vet Care--We also de-worm (using Pyrantel), flea treat (using Revolution) and treat ear mites (using Mitaclear) all dogs. They receive their Canine 5-way vaccine--canine distemper, canine hepatitis, adenovirus cough (kennel cough), parainfluenza, and parvovirus. If they are old enough, they also receive a rabies vaccination. All dogs are heart worm tested, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
