Rescue FAQs

We are currently a small rescue group with plans to grow gradually so that we don't lose the ability to maintain a personal/customer service relationship with adopters. Our current Board and volunteers have been rescuing for many years and decided we should formalize our group so that we could ask for an adoption fee and fund raise to cover our expenses and help strays or abandoned animals with serious medical needs. We are all passionate about pets and our goal is to match the best home with the best animal.
We rescue abandoned, stray, and injured cats and kittens. Although our emphasis is on cats, we will do whatever we can to rescue other animals in need. Our rescue efforts are primarily within Lake County, Illinois (northeastern Illinois). We rescue in all towns, cities, etc. within Lake County and our foster and adoption sites are within Lake County.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application. We conduct veterinary reference checks. Once a person has been approved for adoption, out adoption coordinator will contact the person to set up meet and greets. Adoption fees are: Kittens - $175 for one, $300 for two; Teenage cats - $125; Adult cats - $100; Senior cats - $50 and a negotiable fee for special need or hard-to-place cats and kittens. We do follow-up calls to ensure the cats have integrated into their new homes.
