Rescue FAQs

Illinois Shorthair Rescue operates as a not-for-profit breed rescue group based in Northern Illinois. The goal of ISR is to help German Shorthaired Pointers in need from IN, IL, W , to place them into responsible, permanent homes, and to educate the public about the breed. Our dogs come from animal control organizations, humane societies, and owner give-up situations. All of our dogs are fostered in private homes.

Additional adoption info

ISR requires an application be on file and an in home visit be preformed prior to adoption. All dogs are released with an adoption contract. Fees collected go strictly to supporting vet care, food and training for all orphans.
