Shelter FAQs

We serve the Town of East Hartford as Municipal Animal Control officers. We personally care for our dogs on a day to day basis as part of a regional effort with the towns of South Windsor and Manchester. Each town is responsible for the adoptions of their own animals. Our ultimate goal is Public safety and education about the animals in our town and to try and find a loving home for every animal that comes through our doors.

Additional adoption info

We ask that you come to our shelter to have an initial meeting and to fill out our adoption application. If everything goes well we usually like a second meeting involving the people who live in your home and any animals in the home as well. We take part in the APCP voucher program. It is a $50 fee for adoption and in return you get the voucher for discounted services on spaying/neutering and vaccines. These are only avaiable to residents of the state of Connecticut.
