Areas Brass City Rescue Alliance Serves

This group is not directly affiliated with the Waterbury Dog Pound, meaning that we do not work there, but we do have information about the dogs and can assist with as many inquiries as possible on them. We aim to assist the Pound, although they do NOT allow a volunteer program, in as many ways as possible. During warmer months we collect food, toys and other needs for the impounded dogs and the adopted dogs. We seek rescue assistance for those dogs at the Pound that are in need of rescue. This rescue group is in the process of applying for all federal and state licenses to fully operate as a certified rescue. We also advocate for the well being of the dogs and their living conditions and strive to better improve the long standing customer service issues at the Waterbury Dog Pound. Through constant media promotion and proper assessments of the dogs, we hope to save as many lives as possible in our day to day mission.

Brass City Rescue Alliance's Adoption Process

When a potential adopter is interested in adopting a dog from BCRA, they must fill out an adoption application. The application will be checked within 48 hours and our Adoption Coordinator will email you (please check your spam box!) We will need you to provide a Vet reference, 2-3 personal references (non-family) and will schedule a home check visit about 14-21 days after adoption. This allows us to not only check on how you're all adjusting to one another, but to also address any concerns that you have. We will never leave you in the lurch and will always be there to guide you with your dog/cat. We love them too!

The adoption fee donation will apply.
Canine Adoption Fee Donation is $385 per dog.
All dogs are spayed/neutered, rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccines, heartworm test, fecal test, dewormed and also microchipped.

Feline Adoption Fee Donation is $200.
Includes spay/neuter, rabies and distemper vaccines, deworming, flea treatment and FIV and feline leukemia testing.

** Please note that we often receive several applications for each animal. It's best match, not first come first serve. We let the dog chose it's owner as well. Please do not be offended if declined for a particular dog. We will do everything in our power to find the perfect match for you or refer you to another rescue/shelter. Thank you. **

About Brass City Rescue Alliance

We aim to get as many dogs and cats adopted as possible via our rescue. We have our own shelter and also several feline foster homes to lovingly care for our animals prior to placement. We provide veterinary care, behavioral assessments and training to make each animal successful in its new forever home.

During warmer months we collect food, toys and other needs for the impounded dogs and the rescued/adopted dogs. We also collect items for the dogs we rescue as well as vetting donations for their care while in rescue. We network for dogs at local shelters and lend a hand to our rescue friends whenever we can. We also advocate for the well being of the dogs and their living conditions and strive to better improve the long standing customer service issues at the Waterbury Dog Pound as well as other shelters. We also help the public with questions, training, referrals/paying for veterinary care etc. Through constant media promotion and proper assessments of the dogs, we hope to save as many lives as possible in our day to day mission.
