Shelter FAQs

West Valley Humane Society is an open-admission animal shelter serving Southern Idaho, including Canyon County and surrounding communities. We provide care and support for stray, surrendered, abandoned, and neglected animals, giving each one the opportunity for a new beginning.

In partnership with the cities of Nampa, Caldwell, and Canyon County, we accept animals brought in by Animal Control Officers as well as members of the public.

Our mission is simple: to give every animal a second chance and connect them with loving homes.

Saving lives, one pet at a time.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is simple and centered around helping you find the right match. Animals are adopted on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified individuals or families, no holds are placed.

Adoption fees range from $25–$500, and we occasionally offer special promotions to make finding your new best friend even more rewarding.

We accept both cash and credit for your convenience.

Every dog and cat goes home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready to start their next chapter with you.
