Rescue FAQs

DC PAWS Rescue was formed to serve the interests of animals through activities such as animal rescue; providing sanctuary for abused animals; public education concerning the needs of animals in shelters, positive-reinforcement training for animals; placement of rescued animals in adoptive homes, and other related charitable activities.
We serve the Metro DC area (DC, MD and VA). Adoptions are limited to this area because we require home visits prior to adoption, and don't have a way to conduct home visits where we don't have volunteers.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process entails:
1. An application
2. An interview
3. Vet check (if applicable)
4. Landlord check (if applicable)
5. Home visit

Our adoption fee is $350 for adult dogs or puppies; the adoption fee for senior dogs is $200. The adoption fee for kittens is $100, while the fee for adult cats is $150.
