Yes, Doxiepoos need grooming. If a Doxiepoo inherits the Poodle’s curly or wavy coat, they will require more intensive grooming, including brushing at least two to three times a week to keep it tangle-free. A professional groomer should trim Doxiepoos with Poodle-like coats every six to eight weeks. 

Grooming needs are less intensive if a Doxiepoo has more of a smooth, short coat like a Dachshund. Brush once a week to remove loose hair and reduce shedding. Doxiepoos with a mixed coat type (somewhere between curly and short) have grooming needs that fall somewhere in between the two. They might need brushing a couple of times a week and occasional trimming to maintain their coat’s health and appearance.
