Rescue FAQs

We work with people in the community to get dogs spay/neutered, vaccinated and adopted or transferred to a rescue in another area before they land in the local Animal Control facility. As we are foster-based with limited resources and space, usually, the people who have the dog(s) or puppies foster them, for a short period of time, while we pursue outside rescue or re-homing. We will come and take photos, assess the dog's temperament and start a health record. So far, this system is working very well and saving dogs has been a community effort. We are a small group of people with limited resources but a strong desire to see the homeless, abused and neglected dogs in our communities placed in good, loving, permanent homes. If you are in our area and share our passion, please join us!
Located in Coffee County, TN, we work with people in the community to get dogs vetted and adopted or transferred to a rescue in another area, keeping them out of our local Animal Control. We network with other groups in Coffee, and surrounding counties, in the middle TN area to accomplish a rescue or re-homing.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our rescued pets, we require that you complete an Adoption Application. Our online application may be found on our website, www.adoptapet.com/luckybreakpetrescue . We require a vet reference and two personal references as well as information about other pets you may have and what your current living arrangements are, eg., apartment, rental home, owned home, fenced yard, etc. Our current program fee is usually $150.00, which often covers only the basic vetting costs. This may be subject to change if our vetting costs rise. We prefer to meet with you in person at your home and bring the dog for a visit. If you are located too far away from us, we may ask someone from a group closer to you to meet with you. The process could take between one and three weeks to complete, depending on the responsiveness of your references, the needs of the dog and transportation requirements.
