My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Redbone Coonhound
DOB: 2012
Sex: Spayed Female
Weight: 80 pounds (a tad bit overweight)

AMERICAN MADE!!!! Yup, my breed was developed in America and it is tough to find a redbone coonhound anywhere but in this country.

You may think that a “hunting dog” isn’t a good choice for a family pet but look how many people have beagles for their family dogs! And I really am more interested in lounging on the couch than I am in hunting. In fact, when I am outside, I can get rambunctious and play hard with some of the other larger dogs but I don’t spend much time sniffing around or checking out the smells of the wildlife that hang around outside the fence. Plus, if it is cold or raining, I pretty quick to do my business and then am ready to get back in the warm and dry house.

There isn’t much to tell you about my former life because I was found sitting in a parking lot. My owners were never found. I ate good though and I sure recognized going in the house and getting on the couch!

I get along with dogs of all ages and sizes as long as they don’t try to eat out of the same dish I am eating from. Because I am quite young, my foster mom doesn’t quite trust me loose in the house when she is gone. I don’t mind going in a crate at all though because I get a treat when I go in there.
