My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

10/27/14- Corker is a big, handsome sweetheart who is just so eager to be loved and petted—he will purr up a storm for you if you will just sit with him and rub his head and ears. He is as gentle as a bunny rabbit—cats half his size can easily intimidate him, even when they are just being friendly and headbutting him! We found Corker abandoned outside, last spring, so skinny, just starving for food. He found one of our feeding stations for homeless cats in Roxbury and showed up there every night until we finally pulled him in. We named him Corker because he was so eager to eat he would keep jumping into the car while we were getting out the cat food, and every time we put him back out he would bob up again like a cork and jump right back into the car. Now that he is inside, Corker has gained weight and is doing very well. He would love to have a home of his own with a mom or dad or both who will give him the affection he craves. Corker is about three years old. He has been neutered and vaccinated. He tested positive for FIV, but is healthy and can expect a long life—many of our FIV cats live into their early teens and pass away from other causes. Corker would do fine as an only cat. He can also live safely with other cats without transmitting the FIV virus (which is transmitted via bite wounds) because he is so gentle with other cats. Interested in giving Corker a home? Please email us for more info on our adoption process, which includes an application, vet reference, visit with the cat, and adoption fee.
