Hello, my name is Beans. I guess my foster parents started calling me that, because I was a bit gassey. Thankfully that seems to have stopped, so I am open to new names if you are!

I am still young, not sure exactly how young because I don't do math (yet) but I still act like a puppy. My fosters think I'm between 1-2 yrs old. I am pretty much curious about everything that moves or makes noise. My owners tell me that I am pretty big, 85lbs is big but I am definitely still learning how big I am, sometimes I accidentally squish my fur-friends here and they don't really like it.

I am learning though. If there was a cat here I am pretty sure I would chase it, but unfortunately for me, my current humans don't have one. Did I mention the water? I love the water (even a bath) and I will do just about anything to go splash in the creek.

My human keeps telling me I am a fast learner, right now he is teaching me to be more patient with food and treats. I can hold a cookie on my nose for one minute (whatever that means) even with a full bowl of food sitting in front of me. I will sit and stay if you ask me nicely, and if you have a treat I'll do it for as long as you need.

As of right now I am still pretty afraid to be by myself, I am not yet sure if these humans are coming back every time they leave which makes me nervous and I tend to get loud. I have been spending a lot of time in my kennel lately chewing on bones and relaxing and I am beginning to think it might be a suitable permanent den for me, for now though I am sticking to the chair.

I have these pet birds (I think they call them Quail) and it is my job to keep an eye on them in the morning while my human has the barn open to work. I really enjoy having a job and being with him in the mornings for our walks and chores, but my absolute favorite part of the day is when my lady human gets home from work and she lets me snuggle up with her while I get scratches.
IT IS AWESOME!!!

I am excited to join my forever home and I hope that I can find somebody who knows how to put up with a big goof like me!

If you are interested in adopting Beans please email sln2310@yahoo.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.

If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.

Beans's adoption donation is $350 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heart worm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
