My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BEAU is a 1-year-old neutered male fox red lab. Beau weighs 75 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION Beau was originally from a large hoarding situation with another rescue. He was adopted but when he chased the chickens on is adopter's "farmlette" he ended up at the SPCA. Meet handsome Beau! This red fox hunk is quite the looker! He has the happiest smile and is eager to please. Beau seems to know some commands and is an pleasant house guest. He's a bit unsure of new surroundings at first, but is adjusting well. He doesn't jump like most young labs and stays off the furniture unless he's invited. Beau loves chew toys and will chase a tennis ball, but has yet to bring it back. He spends most of his time inside laying near his foster mom or romping with the resident labs. He'll gaze into your eyes to beg for ear and head rubs! Beau is OK on leash and a good rider. He is good with other dogs. He will chase chickens and we presume cats and other small furries. House trained. Not used to being crated and is not crazy about it when he first gets in but settles and sleeps all night

Update: Beau has a killer smile! He's a playful but loving 77lb. guy who loves his foster family and the resident labs. He's gentle and well-mannered in the house, doesn't jump, and is gentle with our 11 year old son. He takes treats nicely, sits pretty, and is a typical velcro boy. Beau loves water, chasing balls and frisbees, squeaky toys and head rubs. He's quite the athlete and would love a home with a spacious yard to run off some energy. He needs a physical fence and is learning to like his crate when foster mom and dad are out of the house. He needs a little leash work, but nothing an Easy Walk Harness wouldn't fix. Beau would love a forever home of his own and is patiently waiting for the right family to come along.

Update: So sorry to be nosey, but I'm still searching for my forever family! I'm Beau, a 1 year old youngin' with a sweet personality. I'm loving my time at the foster Dog Farm with the three resident labs and my foster family. I'm social and sweet and have great house manners. I'm approved for ages 10 and up and love to follow the 11 year old human around. I'm an excellent house guest, potty-trained, and don't jump up like many labs my age. I still have some puppy in me, so I shouldn't be left unattended yet since I may get into mischief. I'm learning to love my crate and know that "bedtime" means it's time for a nap. I go right in with a little treat! I need a happy family with a fenced in yard. Another pup to play with would be nice, but I'd be fine on my own, too. I require head and ear rubs and like to be close to you. I'd love to settle in my forever home soon, so please ask your AC about me

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Setting: Suburban, Rural
Dwelling: Single Family House
Fence: Physical fence Preferred or VERY dedicated to proper exercise, no Efences.

Beau is from a semi-rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. As we learn more from the dog's time spent in foster, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and send out an update.
