Rockaway Beach, NY***** Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the Year of the Dog, our favorite! And one AmsterDog in particular is ready to get the party started. Say hello to 5 year old 54 lb. Papo, our sweet, beautiful Sharpei. Or shall we say SharPapo since he is his own breed of cute. Dumplings have crinkles but Papo has wrinkles that make him deliciously adorable. Papo’s ancestry is said to be linked to the Han Dynasty and even go as far back as 206 BC but he is a modern day love bug! We’re guessing emperors liked to cuddle when they wern’t busy ruling the world because Papo is a natural at it and so affectionate, playful and loving. He’s also a good boy of regal standards when you’re not home, loves spending time with his human friends, will love you even more when he gets his toys and bones and, we’re not sure how far back leashes go but he really know how to strut his stuff on walks, catching everyone’s eye. Papo has a lot to celebrate in addition to the New Year. We saved him from the shelter where he ended for no fault of his own and then had to have surgery on his eyelids. But now, he’s recovering great because he’s so excited every time we tell him about his place called Forever Home. We can’t say enough about this guy, probably because we are obsessed with how cute his wrinkles are. But what we can tell you, is that Papo would give up the parades, fireworks, and even cake to know he is finally home and loved.
