My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WARREN COUNTY, NY: Young, sweet Cobain is certainly a whole lot of handsome! With his deep, warm honey eyes framed by his dark brindle coloring, there is a unique regalness in his appearance. This amazing prince-pup has been through so much and has been the most peaceful, easy-going boy in all the land! Now, can you give Cobain his happily ever after?

Cobain is only about 1 year old and weighs 62 lbs. For the first year of his life, Cobain was kept in a bedroom, rarely leaving the room, nevermind going for walks. Suddenly, he was dumped at the loud, chaotic shelter, where he was so scared he couldn't function, even collapsing out of fear. Even though he was so frightened Cobain never lashed out, he only wanted to hide - a testament to his truly gentle nature. Cobain was at-risk for hurting himself and quickly scheduled for euthanasia. Thankfully, AmsterDog was able to reserve Cobain and one of our wonderful fosters stepped up to save this sweet boy. And wow, has he blossomed! Cobain is delightful and an incredibly easy dog who loves to hang out with other dogs, too. Not only is Cobain adorably puppy-esque, he also loves toys and will play with anything he can get his paws on! Cobain is mellow and quiet in the house, friendly and affectionate – always a wonderful & polite house-dog! His previous owner said that they felt so special at how happy and excited Cobain got when they arrived home from work. Cobain even already knows some commands, too: sit, stay, & wait. Cobain really is such a good dog who needs a little boost of confidence as he adjusts to change but then lets his beautiful personality and easy-going temperament shine!

Cobain is truly a treasure of a dog who deserves a loving forever home to show him the world. He hasn't seen much of it, but he sure would love to see it with you!

Go meet their pets

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.

For adoption inquiries, please contact AmsterDog Rescue at 917-689-8414 or info@amsterdog.org. To get the process started, please fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org/application.
