RESCUING RIBLETT

Riblett, formerly known as Kate, was picked up as a stray and taken to Gwinnett County Animal Services. She had been hit by a car so on top of being emaciated at merely 20 lbs and filled with worms, she also had a badly fractured hip. We had a foster home open up for a young female puppy so when GCAS reached out to us for help, we just so happened to have the perfect foster home for this little girl. Riblett got her freedom ride and we rushed her over to our vet at New Hope Animal Hospital. After Riblett's pelvis healed, she had FHO surgery on her hip to remove the ball of her femur and allow her to heal more quickly and have less pain. She also had a TPLO on her knee.

ABOUT RIBLETT

Riblett, whom we affectionately call Roo, is a funny girl that likes to play catch until she sees you have treats, then she comes running and sits at your feet. Even in her older age, she still loves to run and play outside. Riblett needs to be the only pet in the home, but she would make the most adorable and incredible solo companion. She is one of the most sweet, loving dogs in the rescue- though that love only extends to people (not other dogs or cats). She will happily cuddle with you after a long day to make all your troubles disappear. The best thing about an older dog is that they come fully trained-no potty training, no crate training- all done for you. She loves her people and has been waiting a long time for a forever family to scoop her up and make her life complete!

More about this rescue

Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue is a 501 c 3 no-kill, charitable organization dedicated to the care of homeless, unwanted, abused, and neglected pitbulls, particularly those who are considered hard to place or with special needs. All dogs under our care are provided with food, shelter, veterinary care, as well as basic house-training and obedience until placement is found. We will try to match the dog and appropriate, loving, and permanent home based on the dog's temperament & personality evaluation as well as the prospective home's vet & home check. Veterinary care provided will ensure that the dog is in general good health, up-to-date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Additionally,"Friends to the Forlorn" Pitbull Rescue Inc. takes pride in educating the public in the importance of proper and responsible pitbull ownership, spaying & neutering, as well as the humane care and treatment of all animals.
