My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Tabitha, a charismatic 10-year-old feline who is ready to charm her way into your heart on Petfinder. Tabitha is not your average cat - she's large and in charge, with a bossy yet endearing personality that sets her apart. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to let you know!

One of Tabitha's defining traits is her love for food. She is highly food-motivated and enjoys mealtime immensely. Her quirky behaviors around food add to her charm, making her a delightful companion for anyone who appreciates a cat with a unique personality.

Despite her bossy nature, Tabitha is incredibly lovable. She has a way of winning people over with her playful antics and affectionate gestures. While she likes to have her space and independence, she also enjoys spending quality time with her human companions, especially when there's a chance for cuddles and pets.

Tabitha's loveable personality makes her a wonderful addition to any home that values a bit of quirkiness and a lot of love. She thrives in an environment where she can express her playful side and receive the attention she craves while still having the freedom to enjoy her own space.

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind feline companion who will keep you entertained with her antics and shower you with love, consider adopting Tabitha. With her larger-than-life personality and loveable quirks, she's sure to bring joy and laughter to your home.

Additional adoption info

1) Adoptions are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The first step is to email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name, age, address, and phone number. We will respond as soon as possible to answer your questions and schedule an appointment to visit our shelter. If you have already submitted an inquiry through Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder about a particular cat, there is no need to send a separate email.
2) During your appointment, you will complete a questionnaire and work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important.
3) Before adoption, we ensure that your cat has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

More about this shelter

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment, and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.

Animal House opened in 2010 when the City of St. Louis closed its municipal shelter and ended a number of services for stray animals. Not only did the 75 cats residing in their shelter need a place to go, the St. Louis community needed services for abandoned, homeless cats. Animal House was born out of that need. Today we house 200-250 cats and kittens at any given time.

The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
