Ojitos (Eyes)| 5 years old | 32lbs | Fostered in Trent Hills
Meet Ojitos aka Eyes...her name is perfect for her because just one look at those gorgeous eyes of hers and you will be smitten, just as we were!
When she arrived from Mexico, Ojitos showed her friendly nature. However, she completely shut down. After just a couple of weeks at Doggytime Canine Education Course (DCEC) Ojitos has made really good progress - she is now able to take 15-20 minute walks on the leash. Due to this, we feel she would not be suitable for living in an apartment and would do better in a suburban or rural home with a garden and lots of outdoor space.
Ojitos is a very loving girl who desperately wants to bond. She is quite willing to trust and is doing very well with consistent patterns, rules and boundaries. Continuation of her leash lessons is paramount to breaking her from her fears. Ojitos must not be coddled, nor should she be forced on leash. It's puppy steps all the way for this to work, and she's slowly getting over her fears as her confidence grows, built on trust. She is looking for a family that is experienced with dogs, is patient with her and willing to work on building her confidence. Believe us, your patience will be rewarded! Ojitos is a really lovable sweetheart, friendly with people and other dogs. She loves pets and would lay on your lap all day if you allow her to! She warms up to people fairly quickly and would lay next to a new person almost immediately. She is laid back and would probably prefer spending her whole day just chilling on the couch!
Ojitos is currently on a Raw Diet and would love to continue on it as she has benefited greatly from it.
Ojitos has been spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations.
