My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have PUPPIES again!!

They will be ready for their forever homes when they reach 8 weeks of age on 8/4. The mom, Libra, also needs an adoptive home.

Our best guess is that these cuties are beagle mixes. We believe they will be between 25-35lbs as adults.

If you have been considering adding an SOS puppy to your household, please read below.

We are located in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area, also known as Hampton Roads.

In our continued efforts to provide our rescued dogs with the best possible homes, we have recently amended our regulations for adoption. For any dog under 1 year of age, adopters are now required to participate in a mandatory four-class training session at the Zoom Room Virginia Beach; the classes must be prepaid at the time of adoption for the generously discounted price of $60. Long-distance adopters will need to prepay for an equivalent obedience class in their area and provide proof at the time of adoption.

In addition, we no longer allow any of our dogs to be adopted to homes with children under the age of four.

We require that an application be filled out prior to scheduling a meeting with our dogs. All of our rescues are in foster homes throughout Hampton Roads and are housed in loving home environments. Our volunteers work diligently to house train, socialize, and keep our dogs healthy.

Young puppies under our care are given vaccines and deworming, but it is the responsibility of the adopter to follow up with their veterinarian to continue vaccinations. Young puppies must be spayed/neutered by their adoptive families once they reach 6 months of age. After the procedure has been done, adopters may send us a copy of the spay/neuter certificate to receive a $50 refund of their adoption fee.

Furthermore, our adoption contract requires that all existing animals in the home are spayed/neutered, up to date on core vaccines, live inside as part of the family, and are consistently kept on heartworm prevention.

For renters, we need a copy of your lease's pet addendum. Homes with yards must make certain that fences are free from any gaps or escape routes. If you do not have a yard, your adopted pet must always be leash walked. All adopters must pass a home check by one of our volunteers.

The adoption fees are as follows:

Puppies under 6 months: $300 with $50 refund after spay/neuter. Age-appropriate vaccines given and microchipped. Prepaid obedience training: $60. Total due at time of adoption: $360.

If you are interested in adopting, please send us a private message with your email address so that we may forward an application.
