My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This love bug is growing into himself! Smith loves blankets and drags them all over the house (without chewing) so that he can pull them on top of himself in his various napping spots. He is such a loving and happy dog. This makes him such a joy to be around. He has definitely come out of his shell a bit and is ready for some more training! Smith could easily be a top preforming agility dog, as he runs circles around both his foster dog siblings. He loves being with people and enjoys playing with them over other dogs. He will absolutely be your companion for life!

If you are interested in adopting Smith, please email catahoularescuene@gmail.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.

Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.

Smith’s adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter; all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
