Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Uma | 1 year old | Female - spayed | fostered in Toronto
Uma is amazingly affectionate and loves all people! She would do well with a family or as a loving companion for a single person. Uma has never shown aggression to humans. She is great with kids and not shy of men, which is a common trait with rescue pups.
She does get excited to see you and will sometimes pee when she's really happy or if you're stern with her. She will chew items left in her reach (mail on the floor from the mail slot, shoes, papers, trash...) and she likes to stick her head in the kitty litter box (ew!).
Her foster mom has been working on the chewing by providing more of a variety of toys and chews, and also ensuring items are out of her reach. It helps, but her family will have to remember that she may chew shoes left at the door!
She whines sometimes when her foster mom is in a different room without her, but it's not often, and it's not very loud, and will probably improve with time.
Uma ignores cats, but if a cat wanted to approach her, I expect she would be friendly, cuddly, and maybe a bit playful.
Uma would do great with a fence and a yard to run, a dog park, or with some walks. She loves to go out and play but is calm and quiet inside. She would do well in either a house or an apartment.
She does lick a lot and jump up on people, but is gentle in the process, and responds reasonably to the "off" command. She would be great for someone who wants lots of snuggles and a moderate amount of play time.
She's a very adaptable and easy going dog, we can see her in a variety of settings being very happy, as long as her humans can give her the attention she craves!
