Casco is a beautiful, highly intelligent dog that is active outdoors but cuddly indoors. She is good with kids, adults, men and women, strangers and friends/family. She does not discriminate. She is trusting and gentle with people. She is highly driven when on a scent or track and most in her element (a thing of beauty really). She can brave the outdoors but then be ready to cuddle by the fire afterwards. She is very good and quiet when traveling in a vehicle and would love nothing more than to accompany someone on their next hunting trip but then lay in a warm cozy bed to recuperate for the next day’s adventure!
If you are interested in adopting Casco please email catahoularescuene@gmail.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Casco's adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
