Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MAJOR UPDATE: Due to Tank's cancer diagnosis, Tank is no longer adoptable. He is a Forever Foster and will remain in his foster home.
Meet Tank! We transferred Tank into our rescue in January of 2019. He was quite hefty when he first arrived. After months of his weight loss regimen along with plenty of exercise, he was back on track and in shape!
Tank was adopted by a family in August of 2019 but was returned on June 2020 due to major life changes the family was going through.
He would love nothing more than to be a couch potato and sleep, so it is important that his new family get him walking for his daily exercise to maintain his healthy weight. He is a rescue favorite here!
Let him woo you with his paw shaking talents (both paws!) and his invitation for lots of belly rubs!
Tank is currently being personally fostered by Operations Manager, Jessica Garcia, which includes a home of 5 dogs, 1 other foster dog (Penny), and 4 cats.
Health Considerations: Tank has very occasional acid reflux, treatable with over-the-counter Pepcid.
He is also in the grey area for Cushing's Disease which means he cannot be classified as having Cushing's Disease. He may or may not develop full-blown Cushing's Disease in the future, so we are treating it holistically with a grain-free dehydrated food diet, melatonin, and other supplements.
Tank has severe hip arthritis. He was moved to different oral medications which eventually stopped working as his arthritis progressed. Tank is now off oral medications and taking a monthly injection of Librela. Librela can be a hit, a miss, or a here & there with dogs, so we are grateful that it's been a hit for Tank! He walks around pain free and with a little more pep in his step!
Tank was diagnosed with cancer in February of 2025. He will live out the rest of his days in his foster home who is keeping a close eye on him for any quality-of-life changes.
Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
