Melvin is a 14 year old Lab mix looking for his forever home! He is blind and weighs around 70 pounds. He is blind but in good health. He is a quick learner and gets around great once he learns his surroundings. Melvin is house trained, he will let you know when he wants to go outside. He walks well on a leash and likes to go for walks. He is very sweet and loves attention, he loves to follow his foster dad around and gets so excited when he hears his voice. Melvin is laid back and is very quiet. He gets along great with other dogs and cats, he is blind so proper slow introductions would work best so he does not get overwhelmed since he can not see them, he uses his nose to learn his surroundings. Melvin just wants a family to love.
$180 Adoption fee required. This covers altering, 6 in 1 series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, Parasite testing, frontline, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation. All SOAR dogs go through a ten day quarantine period to insure they are healthy, before being put up for adoption. Though if the dog is an owner turn in and has been to a vet within the last ten days they go immediately up for adoption, with a further exam at the time of altering. If for any reason the dog does not work out in your family we will take the dog back into our care at any time during the lifetime of the dog. (We require that the said do be returned to us, as per contract. Please read further details on our main page on the last section of our adoption procedure.)
