My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TYLER’s my name and finding a family’s my game. I’m a 9 month old Dachshund/Terrier boy. I’m about 18lbs and a wiggly happy boy! I'm really looking forward to sharing my life with my new family who I hope will teach me lots of neat tricks as I'm super smart, very agile and eager to learn. I also hope that I'll get to go on lots of adventures and generally just have tons of fun! Since I’m a puppy, I’ve got lots of energy and just love to play a lot! I really enjoy going to the dog park and love to make new friends with everyone I meet there. I also love looking out the window and watching the exciting world go by.

Here’s what my foster family says about me:

“Tyler is a happy puppy. He’s very playful and fun. He’s also the king of snuggles. He enjoys being around us and relaxing. He gets along very well with my dogs. He loves playing with them in the backyard. He hasn’t shown any food or toy aggression with them.

He walks nicely on a leash. He is friendly with every dog we meet on the street. He sometimes barks at strangers who are far away or approaching us (I’m working on redirecting); however when he meets these people he’s happy, wags his tail, and gives kisses. He hasn’t shown this barking at strangers in my home and has always been polite and sweet when meeting new people inside.

He isn’t thrilled about his crate since he’d rather snooze with me but he is a good boy who settles down in his crate. He loves to dig under the covers and cuddle."

My forever family must be committed to puppy classes for me with positive reinforcement training only. A list of approved trainers can be found on Just Paws’ website.

As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpawsanimalrescue.com.

Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and cannot be broken. This is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.
