Teddy is a loveable, smart, very well-behaved 6-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He loves to snuggle, he walks perfectly on-leash (and will heel with the command “back”), and he’s great off-leash... although sometimes he does get a little excited when he sees a squirrel and he will try to run after them (that's the terrier in him!). Teddy is on the smaller size for his breed (he’s a little taller than an adult beagle), he is housebroken and knows all basic commands, including several hand commands. He is a very smart pup and fast learner and is even able to identify several of his toys by name. Teddy is great with other dogs, so he would make a great addition or companion to someone looking for a friend for their pup. Cats on the other hand, are a little too much fun for him to chase, so he should probably should not be in a home with them. :)
Teddy does have separation anxiety and thus being with another dog would help him greatly, he would also greatly benefit from an owner or family who has someone home during most of the day to help him with this. Teddy is up to date with his vaccines and already altered so he is rady for a home anytime!
Teddy has had some limited contact with children of all ages and in general does well with them. He can bark initially, especially if there is a lot of running around and fast movements, but once he feels comfortable he settles down well, and warms up to them well!
