Rosie is a sweet girl who loves two things the most in the world: her people and her ball. Any chance Rosie gets to play fetch, she is happy and will have the biggest smile.
Being with her people gives her the security that she needs and deserves in a forever home. Rosie is a happy, bouncy, alert, senior girl. Her age of 10 years old doesn’t slow her down from having fun and enjoying everyday to the fullest. She loves her naps and is a peaceful sleeper, but she loves to go on walks and play fetch with her most prized possession; her ball! She will fetch it and gently return it to your hand. A fenced yard and a ball chucker is essential in Rosie’s home!
Rosie is respectful of the house and furniture. She enjoys lounging on her beds or in her crate at her fosters house; she will go in and relax with the crate door open.
She does enjoy being near her people since she likes to know what is going on. She also enjoys the company of other dogs or kids. Introductions for both should be slow and thoughtful so she feels safe. When she becomes alarmed, she does have a loud bark and is learning to use her inside voice with visitors. She will settle when you let her know everything is fine. She is looking for her person that enjoys being outside and going for walks but will also teach her to trust, relax and snuggle up. This sweet girl is deserving of a loving, happy home with a family or person who will throw the ball for her and teach her what love is for the rest of her years.
If you are interested in adopting Rosie please email catahoularescuene@gmail.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Rosie's adoption donation is $250 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter.
We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
