My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This cute little white ball of fluff is Anna, a 16 week old double merle Austrailian Shepherd. Double merle is a term used to describe a genetic defect that occurs when either by accident or on purpose (as is the case with irresponsible breeding) two merle dogs are bred together. In 25% of the cases the result is a double merle. The genetic defect causes a loss of pigment-- in the hair (which is why they are typically mostly white), the eyes (which is why they are blind or visually impaired) and in the ears (which is why they are often deaf). Anna is deaf and visually impaired...but don't let this stop you from considering her! This handicapable pup is smart as a whip! She mastered her house training at 9 weeks of age (she will already tap the back door when she needs to go out). She is learning sign language (knows "sit" and "come") and is the sweetest, most gentle soul you will ever meet! Anna loves people and other dogs, so much so that we are requiring that she go to a home that has another young dog for her to show her the ropes. She is playful as all puppies are; but, is very calm for her young age. She will romp around the yard and then is content to just chill at your feet.
