This is the write-up Gina Bennett, foster mom extraordinaire, has done for tiny Oliver:

"Oliver is a sweet 8 year old boy....
He loves to love you, walk room to room with you, sit next to you on the couch - his head in your lap. This dog is a sweet LOVER a great companion.

Oliver would love to sleep with you, but if not - next to the bed on the floor, close to you will work (or on any dog bed or on top of any basket of laundry LOL
He is excellent with other dogs, cats and loves children. He is shy sometimes at "Hello" from strangers, but if he is, its over quick!

This sweetheart is great in the car, ok on a leash (needs a few more walks to perfect it).
Toys, not so much, does not chew or destroy anything.
House broken, and good with dog doors.
Loves being outside, and is fearless! Not afraid of a lawnmower or vacuum - you have to shoo him out of your way...

The only bad habit this cutie pie has - he's a door dodger! Oy, can be a problem if your not paying attention. Chasing him is no fun, great exercise though. He doesn't go far and will lay down and wait for you ONCE he thinks you're close enough to get him, he knows he's caught.

I have been working with a gate on the door, but I see his interest. Its really not his fault the last time, someone left the gate wide open (he's escaped once in two months NOT BAD) given a wonderful forever home and a bit of training (even without), this dog is a gem!

Forget treats (he does like them sometimes), forget toys - this little guys tail will wag with love if you just look at him across the room! A wonderful bundle of love, for the right person/family."

[Oliver recently had a dental to remove 21 of his 25 teeth (they were rotten and miserable]. He still has FOUR TEETH, bless his heart! He also had a growth removed from his paw. A biopsy determined that it was cancerous, but a type that is locally aggressive, not, thankfully one that spreads throughout. The Vet says that his paw just needs to be watched for a regrowth, which would have to be removed earl, if it occurs.]

PLEASE NOTE: Oliver will only be adopted within 2 hours driving distance from Richmond, VA. ALSO, he has always enjoyed a large FENCED backyard, and will require one in his new forever home.
