My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pearla is exceptionally sweet and people oriented. She is also active and moves fast. She can jump high, too! She would do well in an active, loving home that will bring her along for long walks, adventures, and give her lots of TLC.

A note from a volunteer who took Pearla out for the afternoon:
"I now know why Pearla got her name - she is a Pearl. The was completely non-reactive on our outing - we saw a squirrel - she looked at it and then lost interest, we sat near the dog park and she looked what was going on but that was it, an unleashed dog came running up to her and besides a nose sniff did nothing. Next we went to the West LA farmer's market for lunch (it is a very small market and not crowded) - she got a little stressed at one point while we were waiting for our food - maybe the band was too loud or two or three strangers around her, but a couple pats on the head and a kiss and she was fine. She enjoyed her lunch and was interested in watching the skateboarders (just watching, no reactivity). She could have very easily stolen all the lunch since I had the plate balanced on my lap, but she did not. A couple times she whined a little to remind me that it was time for another piece of lunch. She loves to walk and is also very loving and checks in all the time. And when we are sitting together will give an occasional kiss. She will make a great companion - she is the type of dog you can take with you to run errands on the weekend and not give trouble. And once she knows and likes you she gives VERY enthusiastic greetings. She also made friends with a new gray paw volunteer today. She is a great little dog and would do well in any home as long is it is not too loud."
